Chess News
Chess arose from reading a story, The Homecoming about a spirit who is easily distracted and watches people playing chess. The students were really interested in this and created their own chess board. A student volunteered to play a tournament. 14 kids volunteered to participate in the tournament and then decided to challenge Mr. Gutierrez to play the winner of am class vs pm class tournament, which will occurred last Wednesday. Check out this video on Twitter on Evan, the winner of the student tournament challenging Mr. G! While you're at it, be sure to follow us for more classroom happenings on Twitter @BGaleWilson1 and @DinwiddieUNC
Sewing and Cave Paintings
The sewing and Cave paintings is from the history unit where students are learning about how people in the stone-age had to sew their own clothing and do all of their work by hand. Students are able to make comparisons about how much easier technology has made our lives today. The Cave paintings are done with water color and charcoal.

This is a video of students playing Kahoot which is one of our technology forums we are using to allow students to access information in a fun competitive way with all of them getting to think and particpate at once. Rather than one person raising their hand, everyone answers on a device and they compete for who answers correctly the quickest.
